Marley iO 2026: Luck of the AI-rish
Overview
Welcome to Hi Marley's annual hackathon event with an AI twist! This is a 2-day event focused on building innovative solutions using agentic AI technologies. Teams will hack on Monday and Tuesday, then pitch their projects to a panel of judges on Tuesday afternoon.

Tracks
Track 1: Product Innovation
Build customer-facing products or features that leverage agentic AI to create new value for our users. Think about how AI agents can transform user experiences, automate complex workflows, or enable entirely new capabilities.
Examples: AI-powered customer service agents, intelligent document processing, automated research assistants, smart recommendation engines
Track 2: Internal Process Optimization
Create tools and solutions that use agentic AI to improve our internal operations, developer productivity, or team efficiency.
Examples: Code review automation, internal knowledge base assistants, automated testing & QA tools, process automation agents
Team Requirements
Teams must have 2–6 members. All team members must be current employees.
Teams must be finalized by the Friday before the event. No new teams can be created after that deadline.
New members may still be added to existing teams after the deadline, but new teams cannot be formed.
You may join an existing team or create a new one. Individuals seeking teammates can mark themselves as "Looking for Team."
Submission Requirements
Each team submits one project. Submissions include:
Pitches
Each team presents their project in a ~10 minute pitch on Tuesday afternoon at 1:00 PM.
Pitch order is determined by lottery on the Friday before the event. The order will be visible on the Submissions page once assigned.
Judging Criteria
Projects are scored by each judge on a 1–10 scale across five dimensions, plus an optional diversity bonus:
Innovation
How novel and creative is the approach?
Creativity
How unique and imaginative is the solution?
Technical Execution
How well-built and functional is the project?
Impact / Value
How much potential value does this create?
Presentation
How clearly is the project communicated?
Team Diversification Bonus
Awarded if the team demonstrates cross-functional diversity (e.g. mix of engineering, product, design, operations)

Highest Judge's Rubric Score (Either Track)
Trophy rights + $500 bonus
